Marakešas (Marrakesh)

Our take on the emerging Hopfenweizen style, where blend the traditional Bavarian Hefeweizen with various New World hops.

Mango, tangerine, grapefruit aroma with background notes of banana and black pepper. Light wheat ale taste with a touch of hoppy sharpness. Marrakesh goes well with various Middle Eastern and Northern African dishes, as well as bagels and pizzas. Grab a honey cake or some Turkish delights for dessert!

Maukas (Gulp)

A hybrid SMaSH “Vilnius ale” with Vienna malt, Cascade hops and English yeast.

Aroma of citrus, honey, herbs and spice along with biscuity maltiness. A very light ale with distinctive bitterness. Perfect as a thirst quencher, it can also be served with a wide variety of dishes, be it German or American cuisine.

NemieGOSE PareiGOSE

A traditional German Gose with a focus on late hopping.

Guava, gooseberry and citrus aroma. Lightly soured and traditionally salty Gose taste with a hint of bitterness on finish. Refreshing and subtle aroma and taste allows for pairing with an abundant variety of salads and other summer dishes. On the other hand, Gose is sour enough to cut through the greasy tastes and textures, making it a great companion for meat dishes. As for deserts, try it with Zefirs (the Lithuanian/Latvian variety made from apples) or Meringue yummies (like Pavlova), but the fruity sourness of this Gose really goes well with anything sweet.

Dvejenas (Double Trouble)

Nicknamed a “Caribbean Dubbel” by our crew, this is a Belgian Dubbel with Muscovado sugar and dates syrup.

Muscovado introduces mollasses, vanilla, wood and pepper notes to this ale, while date syrup adds caramel and dried fruit undertones. This duo perfectly complements the traditional spicy, earthy and fruity Belgian yeast aroma as well as the rich malty profile derived from five different malts used in Dvejenas. It’s a perfect companion to darker desserts: chocolate cakes, brownies and fudges, carrot cake, dried fruit or prune cakes, as well as various Christmas and Easter desserts.

Čia Waimea (This is Waimea)

ČIA is a series of Single hop DDH IPAs, showcasing some of our favorite hops. Each batch contains only a single variety of hops, dry hopped twice to enhance the aroma. To boot, we’ve made this IPA extremely pale and refreshing so that the hops could shine bright in the spotlight.

Waimea is a fairly new hop variety from New Zealand (released in 2012), prized for its special and unique aroma. It hits you with a sweet coctail of candy and tangelo backed up by bright piney notes, then finishes with a soft touch of yellow plum and pear. Unfortunately, this hop is in high demand but low in supply, so this batch with Waimea hops might be the only one this year.

Sakai Sakai

Kölsch style light ale brewed with spruce needles.

Fresh spruce needle and forest aroma enhances light (but bright) malty and hoppy notes. Light body and taste works in contrasting tandem with fresh yet spicy spruce needle flavor. This ale is soft yet complex enough to go well with many dishes. However, the forest aroma calls for local delights: fresh bread and farmhouse cheese, game meat with mushrooms and forest berries, or simply the catch of the day sizzled on coals.

Sir Boxeur

Sir Boxeur is a seasonal Dunkles Bock ale with bitter orange peel and caraway seeds.

A comforting aroma for the winter season: bright orange peel notes are underlined with soft caramel nut cake aroma and a bit of spice, fading seemlessly into slightly crusty rye bread notes. Taste is full but no too sweet: plenty of hops and spice to balance out the the mellow dried fruit and caramel flavor. This rich ale was created for Christmas: try it along some roasted meat dishes or rich Christmas cake, or just on its own… in your favorite rocking chair by the fireplace, of course!

ABOUT US

Three boys from Vilnius with an unfathomable love for beer.

Rewind the tape back to the beginning of 2017. The journey began by what is known as gypsy brewing – meaning a lot of moving around and looking for breweries that would share their brewing equipment for our recipes.

Fast forward to 2018. The pilgrimage came to an end as a new home was found – in the very center of our beloved hometown Vilnius.

As Kuro Aparatūra we chose stability over compromise. Our brews have an elaborate development cycle, are visionary and balanced – a far cry from the trends of today. We have trust in our always-steaming-always-on-the-run Kettle, which is called by Japanese as a black mischievous machine. We also believe that your beer will be in the hands you trust.
